If you have never had the pleasure of sampling the akitu Pinot Noir range then you have yet to live."

Jamie Goode, U.K

The texture is firm and salivating, flavours offer contrast and a reflection of the vintage and fruit quality.

Cameron Douglas MS, New Zealand

You can feel the terroir as much as taste it.

akitu pinot noir

All we planted in our single 12ha vineyard was Pinot noir, here we obsessively try to make the absolutely best wine we can from each season's weather package.  Our wines are called akitu A1, akitu A2 and akitu Pinot Noir Blanc. We make wine for our friends and for their friends.  Enjoy.

People & Place

In 1959 Andrew Donaldson's grandfather bought a house in the stunning but then remote location of Lake Wanaka, Central Otago.  Serendipity and some decades later this wonderous and challenging area is now one of the world's most exciting places to make Pinot noir, Andrew’s favourite varietal.  Vine and man love growing here.
